“The Simply Organized Bride” contains the worksheets described below, available in pdf format (except as noted) compatible with any computer so long as you have the free Adobe Acrobat reader software referred to above. The worksheets may then be printed on regular 8-1/2" by 11" paper and inserted into a three-ring binder. They have also been designed in a slightly larger font with plenty of extra room for additions.

  • The detailed, easy to use Budget is available in both Adobe PDF and Microsoft Excel format. In Microsoft Excel, amounts may be added up automatically and the budget may then be printed for easy reference. The budget may be prepared in two ways:

    1) by dividing the total amount that you anticipate spending into percentages; or
    2) by adding up the individual expenses to determine the total wedding budget.

    The budget also includes expenses for the wedding rings and honeymoon and several other items not usually contained in a wedding budget worksheet. The Addendum to the Budget includes items needing to be planned for but not necessarily expenses of the engaged couple, as well as the traditional breakdown of expenses between the engaged couple and their families. There is extra space included in the budget for any additional items required for your particular circumstances. The budget also serves as a reminder of items that require attention. • The complete, itemized Check List is 10 pages long and is very detailed, providing tips and ideas throughout. It takes the engaged couple through the initial organization required, the preparations for the wedding day, the wedding day itself and items needing to be done after the wedding. Like the budget, the check list contains many items not usually contained in a wedding planning check list. For example, the caterer is one of the vendors referred to four times in the check list:

    1) make arrangements for the caterer and choose the menu (6-12 months before your wedding);
    2) reconfirm arrangements with the caterer and finalize menu details (1-2 months before your wedding);
    3) arrange for a meeting at the ceremony and reception sites with the caterer, the florist, the photographer and the videographer to confirm set-up arrangements (two weeks before your wedding); and
    4) finalize plans and guest count with the caterer (one week before your wedding).

    It is very important to stay in touch with all of your vendors on a regular basis so as to prevent any surprises (like a company closing up shop at the last minute)! Also, there is extra space included in the check list for your list of vendors and for any additional items required for your particular circumstances. The check list serves as a reminder of items that require attention. [Return to Plan Your Event]

  • The Reception Organizer is a new worksheet exclusive to “The Simply Organized Bride” designed to assist you in choosing your ceremony/reception sites and your caterer. It has been divided into two parts:

    1) requirements of the reception site itself (e.g. bride's room, kitchen, sound system etc.) and whether those items are available at that particular site; and
    2) items required at the reception site (e.g. tables, china, decorations etc.) and who will provide those items.

    Once this worksheet is completed, you will easily be able to determine what items are not covered and what may need to be rented or borrowed. [Return to Plan Your Event]

“Deborah's organization of the reception was impressive.”
- Britain Walker, Emerald Bay Events -

  • The Timeline is an extremely important worksheet as it helps you think about and coordinate all of the details of your wedding day. It sets out the approximate timing of all of the details from what time to get up, when to arrive at the church, what time to do photographs etc. through to what time the reception is expected to end. However, it is important to remember that the timeline is only a guideline. It is not important to follow any exact schedule, but rather to make sure you don?t miss any important details. The timeline also serves as a reminder of any outstanding items that require attention. [If you wish, I can assist you with preparation of your timeline as part of my consulting services]. “Deborah's wedding was the most organized
one I have ever held at Victoria Manor.”

- Lora Hoffman, Victoria Manor -

  • The Photography Schedule provides the photographer with details of the names of the parties to the wedding, what special photographs are desired and the approximate timing of your photographs. The photographer also needs to know the details of the relationships of the parties to the wedding. This is particularly important if any of the parents are divorced or deceased as it can cause extremely awkward moments if there is any animosity amongst the parties to the wedding. This worksheet is a general guide and also contains extra space for any additional special photographs you may desire. [Return to Plan Your Event]
